Campership Fund kicks off spring with Monteiro, Drew Marine challenge

The Greater Waterbury Campership Fund kicks off its 52nd annual spring campaign Sunday, and two longtime friends of the Campership Fund are once again stepping up to make sure as many local children as possible get to camp this summer.

Frank and Sandy Monteiro of Prospect, this year joined by their son Anthony, and Drew Marine, of which Frank Monteiro is president and chief executive officer, are offering a 3-week challenge grant. This opportunity could mean $15,000 in camp tuition available this summer, just as 15 camps are preparing to open and provide their life-changing fun and experience.

The challenge starts Sunday.

Frank sat down with Anne Karolyi, president of the Campership Fund, to talk about why he and Sandy feel so strongly about Campership’s worth to the campers, and to the community.
